HYDERABAD, May 13: Journalists in several districts and towns of the province staged rallies on Sunday in protest against attack on Aaj TV and media men in Karachi.

The Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ) held a demonstration outside the press club. Leaders of the union who led the protest demanded that the government should take action against the attackers.

Later, the protesters offered fateha for the people killed in Karachi.

SANGHAR: Journalists staged a rally in Shahdadpur on Sunday against the attack on Aaj TV. Carrying placards and banners, they started their march from the press club and were joined by local people.

They said that the attack on a private TV station in Karachi on May 12 was an attempt to gag the press.

They said that the rulers did not want to face truth and through such acts they wanted to intimidate the press. The rally dispersed after marching on different roads.

THATTA: Journalists brought out a procession in Mirpur Bathoro in protest against arrack on Aaj TV channel and torture of journalists and cameramen during the performance of their professional duties in Karachi.

KHAIRPUR: Journalists staged a demonstration in front of the press club on Sunday.

They condemned the attack on Aaj TV on Saturday and manhandling of journalists and cameramen at various places who were performing their duties.

They demanded arrest of people involved in the attack.
