QUETTA, May 3: The Frontier Corps, Balochistan, and Anti-Narcotic Force have destroyed poppy crops in an area of 900 acres in the Loralai district over the last two weeks and the action was continuing against illegal cultivation.

A statement issued by the

FC said that the security forces had acted on reports from different sources that some people had illegally cultivated poppy crops.

The FC and ANF started aerial and ground monitoring and worked out a plan to destroy the crop.

The statement said that 200 law-enforcement personnel and local people took part in the operation launched on April 14.
