PESHAWAR, May 2: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has dispatched a 40MVA transformer to be installed at the Kohat grid station to overcome the ongoing loadshedding in Hangu.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, a Pesco spokesman contradicted reports about loadshedding in Hangu. He clarified that a 40MVA power transformer at the Kohat grid station had developed a fault a few days back, leading to frequent power breakdowns and low voltage in the district.

He said Pesco had shifted the load of Hangu grid station to Tall grid station, from where the eight feeders of Hangu were being supplied electricity. “Due to this alternative arrangements and low capacity of the Tall grid station, the eight feeders of Hangu are supplying power under a temporary load management schedule,” he said.

The spokesman said a 40MVA power transformer from Shah Bagh grid station in Peshawar had been sent for installation at Kohat grid station to overcome the problem.

This transformer would become functional within 72 hours, he said, urging consumers in Kohat, Hangu and adjoining areas to cooperate with the company during the period.
