NEW YORK, April 20: Pakistan People’s Party on Thursday categorically denied reports about purported ‘deal’ between the party and the government over the president’s re-election, stating that Gen Musharraf’s re-election by the current assemblies would be unconstitutional.

Sherry Rehman, PPP lawmaker and information secretary, on Thursday termed the reports patently false and part of a “government-inspired diversionary tactics” and said: “We believe that any elections of President Musharraf by present assemblies will be unconstitutional.”
