NAWABSHAH, April 17: The district council on Tuesday slammed the district coordination officer (DCO) for his failure to cooperate with the district government and demanded that the Sindh government transfer him immediately.

Daleldero Union Council Nazim Mohammed Hussain Chandio tabled a resolution demanding DCO’s transfer. The DCO Ahmed Bux Khokhar had intentionally withheld release of Baitul Maal and zakat funds and funds for development schemes to scuttle the district government’s performance, he charged. Besides, the DCO had not attended any council session despite several letters, he said.

A council member Long Khan Channa said that if the members got united, the officials could be made answerable to them and could also be transferred.

Members belonging to Haq Parast group staged a walkout over the remarks of a nazim of Awam Dost Panel Mohammad Hussain Bughio that some nazims criticised the officers at the session and then had dinners and meetings with them.

The council passed several resolutions regarding appointment of teachers in Daur high school, financial help to sportsmen and provision of medicine for cattle.
