KARACHI: Golden jubilee

KARACHI, April 17: The weeklong students’ programme at the Government National College to mark its golden jubilee concluded with an award ceremony.

The ceremony began with a competition of Husn-i-Qirat inaugurated by the principal Prof Zahid Latif Butt. Mohammad Atif, Mohammad Bilal and Mohammad Hassan secured the first three positions while a consolation prize went to Mohammad Munawar.

It was followed by a Naat recitation competition. Shaikh Naeem Ahmad, Imad Zafar, Abid Hassan were ranked as the winners of the first three positions while the consolation award went to Mohammad Wasim Niazi.

The declamation contest was held on the proposition of ‘Prosperity lays in peace’. Manzoor Hassan, Mohsin Yahya, Mohammad Hassan were the top winners while Jawed got the consolation prize.
