KARACHI, April 12: Residents of various localities in the city on Thursday complained of acute water shortage in their areas. Complainants from old areas of Kharadar said they were facing shortage of water for the last many days.

They said water to the old areas was supplied for 10 to 15 minutes, which could not meet their requirements.

Complaints were lodged many times with the staff of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board at local Jaffar Fudoo water pumping station, but to no avail. They asked the officials concerned to ensure enough water supply to the areas.

Residents of Bhittai Colony, PECHS, Green Belt and Akhtar Colony said shortage of water was a chronic problem of the area and the officials concerned were not paying attention to complaints.

Residents of Baghdadi, D.D. Chaudhry Road and Bismillah Colony, Lyari Union Council also complained of water shortages.
