KARACHI, April 11: An exhibition of paintings by self-taught Karachi-based artist Wasi Haider opens today (Thursday) at Citi Art Gallery at 5.30 pm. Wasi paints impressions in light soft colours and it takes a few moments to register that the paintings are figurative as well. The figures are finely drawn in a suggestive style expressing human moods

His latest work is more mature as his perception has progressively evolved and his symbols undergone dramatic changes. The semi abstract figure in his latest works are contained and skillfully veiled. He has mischievously played hide and seek with expose’ and expressions in his paintings.

The exhibition will continue till April 19th.
