KARACHI: Homoeopathy Day observed

KARACHI, April 10: Like elsewhere in the world, International Homoeopathy Day was observed in Pakistan to commemorate the 252nd birth anniversary of the founder of Homoeopathy, Dr Hahnemann.

In Karachi, a walk was organised by the Pakistan Homoeopathic Physicians Society in coordination with the Nigehban Foundation and the All Pakistan Homoeopathic Medical Alliance. Homoeopathic doctors and students participated in the walk in a large number.

The walk started from Regal Chowk and ended at the Karachi Press Club.

The participants urged the government to support and promote homoeopathy and help resolve the problems being faced by practitioners and other professionals in this field.

The walk was led by members of the National Council of Homoeopathy (NCH and other prominent figures including Dr Syed Javed Hussain Shah, Dr Mohammed Tayyab, Dr Ehtesham Karim, Siddiq Tahir, Dr Rana Amin Tariq, Dr Akhlaq Ahmed and Dr Shahina Amin.

Dr Javed Hussain Shah of the NCH called for budgetary allocations for homoeopathy and setting up of a homoeopathic department at all government hospitals.

He demanded that homoeopathic doctors be given government jobs as was being done in Punjab.

He also stressed on the establishment of homoeopathy research centres across the country.—APP
