Published April 10, 2007

KARACHI, April 9: A suspected dacoit, who was on run with his three accomplices after looting a man, was killed on Monday in a shootout with police in Quaidabad. His three accomplices, however, fled.

Police said four dacoits on two motorcycles intercepted a transporter, Saifullah, near Haddi More, looted Rs40,000 cash and fled.

A police patrol appeared there just after the incident. Saifullah informed the police about the robbery. They chased the dacoits who opened fire, which was returned.

During the encounter, one of the dacoits was killed who fell off the bike while his accomplices escaped.

A card found from the dacoit’s pocket identified him as Ikram Khan, hailing from Tank. The police seized a pistol and shifted the body to Jinnah hospital.
