KARACHI, April 2: Sindh Home Adviser Waseem Akhtar has felicitated Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, DG Rangers, IGP, CCPO besides ulema belonging to various schools of thought and people at large for the best arrangements made for peaceful celebration of Eid Milad on Sunday.

Talking to a representative delegation at his office on Monday, the adviser said peaceful observance of Milad could become possible only because of government’s successful strategy, cooperation of all religious organisations and complete sectarian harmony.

He paid tributes to efficient and dutiful personnel of police, Rangers and of law enforcing agencies who acted according to security plan and strategy chalked out for the occasion. Earlier on the day of 12th Rabiul Awwal, the home adviser along with Sindh Information Adviser Salahuddin Hyder visited Nishtar Park and reviewed security arrangements. They met the organisers and religious leaders and exchanged views with them.

The religious leaders thanked the home adviser for security arrangements and requested for cold water arrangement.

Waseem also visited police control room set up at Nishtar Park and issued various directives. Later, he visited the camps set up by Sunni Tehreek, PPP, PML(N), Jamaat-i-Ahle Sunnat, Memon Gujrati Supreme Council and other parties.—APP
