KARACHI, April 2: Sindh Local Government Minister Muhammad Hussain Khan has said the process of granting lease to inhabitants of kutchi abadis has been accelerated throughout the province to give them a sense of ownership and security.

He stated this during a visit to Machar Colony to have appraisal of the residents’ problems.

The minister said lease work was carried out through the Sindh Katchi Abadies Authority. Besides, he said federal departments were also approached for resolving lease-related matters.

Mohammed Hussain said 98 per cent poor majority had been facing the same problem since the inception of Pakistan.

He referred to the execution of development projects worth billion of rupees and said this clearly indicated his party’s commitment to people who were enjoying travel on modern flyovers and underpasses, built by city government, for the first time.

Later, the minister visited various areas of the colony and enquired about the problems of local population—APP
