KARACHI, March 30: Judicial Magistrate First South Aurangzeb Alamgir Qazi ordered the release of Asif Ishaq who was recovered from a lock up of Chakiwara Police Station on Thursday during a raid by the JM.

The raid was conducted on an application submitted to the District and Session Judge South, Mr Zaheer Ahmed Leghari by Mohammad Ishaq Asif Ishaq’s sibling. When the raid was conducted there was no record of Asif’s arrest, nor any other evidence of his involvement in criminal activities. The JM sealed the relevant record and directed the SHO to personally produce the accused in his court on Friday.

The SHO, Naeem Khan, appeared in court and said that the FIR against the accused was registered in Kalakot PS, but due to non-availability of a lock up, the accused was kept in Chakiwara Police Station.

He was accompanied by SI Abbasi of Kalakot PS, who said that FIR against the accused was registered under Section 54 in Kalakot PS. The court released the accused and the complainant withdrew his application against the police.
