SHIKARPUR, March 26: Two separate encounters between the bandits and villagers resulted in the death of a bandit and a man and injuries to two women and another bandit. The encounters took place in the jurisdiction of Dakhan and Golo Daro police stations on Sunday night.

Five armed men entered the house of Ali Madad Wadhiyo in Soomrani Wadhiyo village in the jurisdiction of Dakhan police to steal cattle. The people present in the house offered resistance, leading to a shootout in which Ali Madad was killed on the spot. The bandits took the buffalo away.

In another incident, three armed men entered the house of Ali Gohar Paryo which resulted in an exchange of fire. An outlaw Khalid Deenari was killed and his accomplices Israr Deenari and two women, Zohra Paryo and Noor Jehan Paryo, were injured.

The injured outlaw was taken away by his companions. The injured women were admitted to the Garhi Yasin hospital. Golo Daro police have registered a case against three accused.

ROBBERY: The passengers of two Karachi bound coaches were looted by the highwaymen near Jaamra village on Shikarpur-Sukkur road on Sunday night. Ten armed dacoits intercepted two coaches one coming from Quetta to Karachi and the other from Peshawar to Karachi and snatched cash, watches, mobile sets and other valuables from the passengers.

Meanwhile, a patrolling police party reached the spot and followed the culprits. The culprits opened fire on police. As a result of encounter, constable Imtiaz Bhambhro of Shikarpur police was injured. Later, police following the footprints arrested some suspects from the nearby villages.
