KARACHI, March 24: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Saturday, condemning the government for its attack on the judiciary, urged the opposition parties to get united on the one-point agenda of restoration of democracy.

Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, PTI chief Imran Khan said that filing a reference against the chief justice was like an ambush on the judiciary. He said that owing to the judicial crisis the country had become a laughing stock in the international community.

He said the government by taking steps without any planning had destroyed everything from courts to cricket and he feared that if the present government was given any more time in office, it would sell off the entire country.

He said that the only honourable way out for Gen Musharraf was that he resigned immediately and took the army back to the barracks so that democracy could take roots and the army could spend its energies on its professional matters. Mr Khan also announced that the PTI would fully participate in the protest called for March 26 by the ARD.
