KARACHI, March 20: Speakers at a meeting condemning the government’s action against Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry demanded his immediate reinstatement.

They were speaking at the meeting organised by Jamaat-i-Islami on Tuesday in connection with a training workshop for the nazims. Dr Mumtaz Memon, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Nasrullah Shaji, Shaikh Rafiq, Shahid Hashmi, Shamim Pasha and others spoke.

They said while people were protesting all over the country in support of the chief justice, 40 commandoes attacked Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad, who wanted to go to the Constitution Avenue to participate in the protest and took him away.

They urged the nazims to carry out development works in their respective areas actively so that problems of their electorate were solved.
