KHAIRPUR, March 16: The Shaikh Ayaz national conference on "Enlightenment, peace and brotherhood" will be held at the Allama I. I. Qazi Hall of the Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) on Saturday (today) under the aegis of Shaikh Ayaz chair of the university.

There will be four sessions of the conference. In the morning session, some books and a website on the poet will be launched and Shaikh Ayaz shields will be awarded to poets, researchers and writers. In the next two sessions, papers will be read on the poetry and personality of Shaikh Ayaz. A music concert will be held at the night.

Renowned writers and intellectuals -- including Mazhar Jamil, Agha Saleem, Fehmida Riaz, Badar Abro, Muslim Shamim, Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo and Taj Joyo -- will read papers.

Sindh Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Sohrab Sarki will inaugurate the conference.
