Man dies in roof collapse

LAHORE, March 14: An elderly man was killed while a youth suffered injuries in a roof collapse at Baksheeshpura village in Defence on Wednesday. Police said Niamat, 60, and Ishfaq, 24, were removing goods from the house of Khursheed for shifting purpose when the dilapidated roof of a room caved in and both got trapped under the debris.

The injured were removed from the debris by other workers and rushed to hospital while Niamat died before reaching the hospital.

According to the police, the roof was made of wooden girders and might have collapsed owing to rains.

KILLED: A motorcyclist was run over by a trailer on Main Raiwind Road near Lahore park on Wednesday. Abbas, 40, was going on a motorcycle when the trailer hit and killed him.

The driver managed his escape.
