KARACHI, March 8: The Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi organised a Mushaira of women poets to mark International Day of Women here on Wednesday.

Gulnar Afreen presided over the mushaira in which Shahnaz Noor, Rehana Roohi, Hijab Abbasi, Nuzhat Abbasi, Aireen Farhat, Humera Rahat and Humera Sarwat recited their works. A number of budding women poets from universities and colleges also recited from their works.

A large audience attended the mushaira. The organisers later announced the event would become an annual feature on International Women’s Day.
