KARACHI, March 7: Federal Minister for Communication Shamim Siddiqi on Wednesday visited sites of the Lyari Expressway and Northern Bypass and reviewed the progress of work. He issued necessary instructions to the chairman of the National Highway Authority and the concerned officials of the Frontier Works Organisation.

He called for the opening of the South Bound Sohrab Goth-Mauripur section by June, and said that work on this section be geared up.

He asked the FWO officials to ensure work on the Lyari Expressway Project in three shifts.

Reviewing the progress of Northern Bypass work, he ordered that the project be completed by the third week of March and heavy traffic be allowed to ply on the bypass in order to reduce traffic pressure on other roads.—APP
