KARACHI, March 4: President of Pasban, Sindh chapter, Rafique Ahmed Khaskheli has criticised the government for the rising trend of gang rape cases in Sindh, and said that soon after the gang rape of a girl in Ubauro, another girl had been subjected to gang rape in the same taluka. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that fleeing of a girl and incidents of assault on women in the Darul Aman, Karachi, were also condemnable acts, the responsibility of which lied on police and the government.

He said that Pasban was striving hard for provision of justice to the oppressed across the country, adding that if the government did not ensure justice restored to people, youths of the country would take to the streets against the present system.

Rafique Ahmed said that Pasban would launch a nationwide movement against gang rapes and other atrocities on citizens.

He said the government in the name of enlightened moderation was giving boost to a vulgar culture as a result of which women were being assaulted elsewhere in the country.—PPI
