Port Qasim operations

KARACHI, March 3: Shipping activity picked up at the port where two vessels carrying containers and furnace oil were allotted berths at QICT and Fotco terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Berth occupancy remained at 30 per cent at the port where three ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, peas/ seeds and furnace oil, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo volume of 71,551 tons comprising 62,524 tons imports and 9,027 tons exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 909 containers (Teus) was handled at the port during the same period.

A vessel, Stella carrying furnace oil was at the outer anchorage on Saturday. Container ship Lucien is expected to take berth at QICT while container vessel Maersk Arkansas sailed out during the period under review.
