HYDERABAD, Feb 25: Two sweepers died of suffocation while trying to open a choked gutter in the Site area on Indus hills in the jurisdiction of Site police station on Sunday.

Edhi sources said that Nazeer, son of Basheer Maseeh, and Shaukat, son of Samaun Maseeh, reached the Site area to open a choked gutter of a house.

For determining depth of the gutter they dropped a lengthy wood. It got entangled inside and in order to retrieve it, Nazeer entered into gutter. His foot slipped and he slid down.

His colleague Shaukat tried to rescue him and he also lost balance and fell into it.

Edhi volunteers pulled their bodies out of the gutter and handed over them to heirs at Site police station.
