MARDAN, Feb 24: Justice Shahjehan Khan Yousufzai of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has said that cordial relations between the Bar and the bench are imperative for the successful functioning of the judicial system.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the office-bearers of the Takht Bhai Bar Association here on Saturday, he said the Bar and the bench should carry forward the sacred task of providing inexpensive and speedy justice to the people.

Mr Yousufzai said that under the Access to Justice Reforms agenda, judges and supportive staff were being recruited to make the system more efficient. He said under the programme judicial conferences were being held and computers and other essential equipment provided to courts.
