KARACHI, Feb 12: Residents of various localities across the city suffered intermittent and prolonged power outages also on Monday due to what the Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation claimed to be system improvement work.

A resident of North Nazimabad Block A said that power was suspended at 11.15am and restored at 1pm.

A caller form Orangi Town said that the frequent power failures had made their lives miserable, adding that power suspensions had become a daily routine, which, he said, required full attention on part of the KESC authorities.

Similar reports of power disruptions were received from Liaquatabad, Nazimabad No 2, Paposh Nagar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Keamari, and Mahmoodabad.Meanwhile, the KESC has announced another shutdown to what it claimed carrying out of system improvement work.

The areas where the power supply may be interrupted between 9am and 5pm are: DHA phase 4, 6th Gizri Lane, Saudi Consulate, Hussein Hazara Goth, surrounding areas of Aziz Bhatti Park, Digital Science College Gulshan-i-Iqbal, North Nazimabad blocks A, B, D, E,F,G,H,J,K,L ,M,N, North Karachi sectors 5G,5F,11E,11H, 5K,5C-2,14B, 15A-5, 11-1,11-B,11-K, Gulshan-e-Wasim, Shah Waliullah Road, Tayyab Ali Alvi Road, Green Town, Asifabad, Manzoor Colony, Azam Basti, Gulshan-e-Millat, Awami Colony, Marston Quarters, Nafeesabad, Tipu Sultan Road, Hill Park, Nishter Road, SITE area, North Karachi Industrial area sectors 6B,5E,Mumtaz Trust School, Orangi Town, Surjani Town sector 1-A/4,Gulsha-e-Rafat, Malir, Pathan Goth, Al-Falah Block A, and Gulshan-e-Qadri Phase 3.
