LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 6: Highwaymen hijacked a trailer and later abandoned it in a dry water-course after it developed a fault, sources said here on Tuesday.

They said that a Peshawar-bound trailer carrying a container was hijacked at gunpoint near Malang Adda on the Indus Highway in the limits of the Tajori police station on Monday night. Driver Malook and two helpers — Raziq and Niaz Mohammad — were taken hostage.

The hijackers abandoned the vehicle near Khankhel area when it developed the fault.

Meanwhile, the Lakki police claimed to have recovered another trailer, which was hijacked a week back near the Malang Adda. Driver Khan Sahib Jan and his companions, Razim Khan and Allah Noor, had also been recovered during an operation, police said.
