Published February 3, 2007

LAHORE, Feb 2: Solid contributions by Mohammad Naeem, Hammad Ali and Wajid Ali helped Abbottabad earn a substantial 152-run lead on the first innings against Lahore Ravi in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League fixture at the LCCA Ground on Friday.

Thanks to the efforts of Naeem (54), Hammad (45) and Wajid (42), Abbottabad piled up 314 in reply to Lahore Ravi’s 162.

Medium-pacers Wahab Riaz (4-77) and Imran Ali (4-64) shared the bulk of wickets.

By close of play Lahore Ravi had reduced the lead to 80 by reaching 72 for one in the second innings. Skipper Taufiq Umar made 33.

If Abbottabad win this match outright, they will qualify for the final against Islamabad ahead of Multan, who are struggling for survival in the game at Islamabad.
