KARACHI, Feb 1: Sindh National Front chief Mumtaz Bhutto said that railway officials who allowed the passengers to board on roof of carriages were responsible for the Shikarpur tragedy and stern action be taken against them.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said that owing to poor governance and corruption of the rulers, law and order had deteriorated, bomb blasts occurred ever other day in different cities, masses were exposed to robbers, rural masses suffered due to tribal clashes, and owing to inflation poor people were committing suicides, but the rulers remained unmoved.

Stressing on stern action against the culprits, he said that only inquiries were ordered following the accidents etc, but stern action was never taken owing to which criminal negligence continued and such accidents reoccurred.
