KHAIRPUR, Jan 31: One girl was killed and two others were injured when a part a canal bank collapsed on them in the Shahnawaz Solangi village, Kot Diji taluka, on Wednesday.

Some children were playing in the bed of the Ali Bahar Wah when a part of the canal bank caved in, trapping the three girls. Other children present there informed the villagers who removed the rubble. Shabnam, 11, daughter of Ghulam Qadir, was found dead and Nusrat, 10, and Resham, 8, were injured. Nusrat is said to be in critical condition and has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Khairpur Civil Hospital.

BODY FOUND: The body of a man was found on the railway track near the Tando Masti railway station on Wednesday. The railway police took the body in custody.
