LARKANA, Jan 28: The SP investigation, Karachi, Mushtaque Mahar investigating reports about the cutting of organ of a theft accused, Hazoor Bakhsh Malik, in the lock-up of the Market police station, recorded statements of the victim, police and the concerned officials here on Sunday.

The SP refused to share the contents of the recorded statement with newsmen.

The suspended SHO of the police station, Khan Mohammad Tunio, said that the victim was a habitual thief and denied the allegations while the Writing Head Constable (WHC), the Munshi, Rab Nawaz Mangi, expressed his ignorance, sources said.

He had informed the SHO at his residence about the incident, the WHC said.

The suspended SHO said in his statement that he had neither issued threats to the victim nor he (victim) had been his cook.

The SP also recorded the statements of the Head Constable Ayaz Shahani, the night in-charge, cop Abdul Latif and five prisoners. Shahnawaz Malik, the uncle and other relatives of the victim were not allowed to meet the investigation officer as the main gate of the police station was locked while the SP was busy recording the statements. They sat outside the main gate and kept pressing to meet the officer.

The investigation officer also met the victim in the jail ward of Chandka Medical College Hospital late on Saturday night and recorded his statement, sources said adding that he (victim) had reiterated the initial statement accusing the SHO of chopping his sensitive organ.

A police team from Karachi investigation was also dispatched to 'Garhi Tagio', the native village of the victim, for recording the statements of the villagers and to ascertain his character, sources said.

The joint investigation team comprising Investigation Officer Aslam Parvaiz Abro (Larkana), Inspector Irshad Sahail (Karachi), Malik Jawed and Shahid Hussain on Sunday night recoded the statement of the victim in the jail ward.

Meanwhile, MNA Anwar Bhutto and MPA Ayaz Soomro of PPP met the victim in CMC on Sunday night. The victim said that in his statement to SP investigation Mushtaque Mahar, he had named the suspended SHO of Market police station for this cruel act.
