KARACHI: Report on sharing of revenue

Published February 20, 2002

KARACHI, Feb 19: The committee constituted for working out a sharing formula between the city district government and towns in Karachi has given its final report for submission to the Sindh Governor.

The report came under discussion at a meeting of the Provincial Transition Team, which met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of provincial local government minister Dewan Yousuf Farooqui.

It considered the report to obtain the approval of the governor and to amend the SLGO-2001, particularly with reference to assignment of the union councils’ octroi income to the town municipal administration and the city government.

Dewan Yousuf asked the DCO Karachi to constitute a committee of the city government for determining the liabilities of the contractors, the old union councils and the defunct DMCs in a transparent manner.

The meeting also directed early completion of Tandojam Training Academy’s auditorium.—APP
