KARACHI, Jan 21: Sindh Minister for Local Government and Katchi Abadis Muhammad Hussain Khan has expressed dismay over the performance of the KWSB in Site Town.

In this connection, he issued a directive for the immediate improvement, saying otherwise stern action would be initiated against the officers responsible.

Addressing an open kachehry in Pak Colony, Site Town, the provincial minister said that various complaints of contaminated water, swage over flow and scarcity of potable water indicated the carelessness on the part of officers of the KWSB posted in the Town.

He said that due to the slackness of some officers, residents of UC-1 and UC-2 were facing immense difficulties. “There is no doubt that Site Town needs more water but managing the water provided at present is also essential to help the residents,” he said.

He also directed for timely completion of the on-going development projects, which, he said, was essential for ensuring maximum benefits to the masses. Action should also be taken against the contractor working on water and sanitation projects for adopting delaying tactics, he further directed.

On complaints of load-shedding by the Sui Southern Gas Company on Fridays for long hours, the minister directed the SSGC to resolve the matter immediately.

He also issued orders to the TPO of Site to take immediate action against those involved in aerial firing during weddings and other ceremonies. Action against marble factories, encroaching upon the roads, should also be taken, he added.

He further said that the Haq Parast leadership believe in service to the people without any discrimination and development projects in all unions of Site Town was its proof, although only in two out of nine UCs the Haq Parasts were in a majority.

Town Nazim Izharuddin Ahmed Khan said that development projects worth Rs.210 million were being carried out with the resources of the town.—APP
