KARACHI, Jan 18: The KESC and HESCO have been allowed to disconnect power supply to government officials if they fail to clear their bills according to the readings of installed meters at their residences. This decision was taken here on Thursday at a meeting held in the office of the chief secretary with Additional Chief Secretary Ghulam Serwar Khero in the chair. The meeting also directed all departments to clear KESC and HESCO dues up to Nov 2006 within three days. Even in case of any controversy about overbilling, the payment should be made “under protest” and legal procedure should be adopted for reconciliation.
