KARACHI, Jan 13: Sindh chief of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Maulana Asadullah Bhutto has criticised the US intelligence for insisting that Al-Qaeda hideouts existed in Pakistan, and said that such charges clearly reflected an anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan mentality.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said it appeared that the rulers in Islamabad had failed to satisfy the US administration despite the fact that Pakistan was playing a role of the frontline state in US war on terror.

He said Islamabad should review its foreign policy in view of the allegations being leveled by the US intelligence.

In a separate statement, Naib Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Dr Mumtaz Ali Memon, Rashid Naseem, Hafiz Nasrullah and Mujahid Channa said on Saturday that the Supreme Court remarks on the deteriorating law and order situation in the country and a rise in the rate of suicide motivated by unemployment and poverty had exposed the rulers’ claim of economic progress and prosperity.—PPI
