KARACHI, Jan 8: A division bench of Sindh High Court on Monday issued pre-admission notice to the vice-chancellor of Liaquat Medical University of Health Sciences and other respondents in a petition seeking admission to MBBS at the university.

Petitioner Ghulam Zainab submitted that she was appeared in entry test held under supervision of the National Testing Services on October 29, 2006 for admission to the medical university.

The petitioner challenged that admission was allegedly allowed to another candidate, who obtained 55 per cent marks in the same test, though she had secured 58 per cent marks.

The petitioner submitted that authorities concerned have not entertained her admission request despite the fact that her name was mentioned among other candidates in the provisional merit list.

The division bench comprising Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Mohammad Ather Saeed after hearing the arguments issued pre-admission notice to respondents.

The bench adjourned the proceedings till January 17.
