42 criminals arrested

LAHORE, Jan 7: Model Town and Kot Lakhpat division police claimed on Sunday to have arrested 42 criminals. The police arrested four proclaimed offenders, 12 court absconders, nine target offenders, 12 drug peddlers and 14 people for having unlicensed weapons. They recovered 24 bottles of liquor, 750 gram charas, besides two rifles, eight pistols, two carbines and a number of bullets.

During random checking, as many as 36 motorcycles and cars were impounded. Some of these were found without number plates and the rest of those had dubious documents.

The crackdown was launched against the anti-social elements on the directives of the city police as well as operations police chiefs.—Reporter
