KARACHI, Jan 7: More than hundred suspects involved in vehicle theft or snatching were arrested by the Anti-Car Lifting Cell during the month of December 2006. According to an ACLC statement, 104 suspects involved in vehicle theft were held last month. Five gangs were busted resulting in the arrest of 68 accused and 32 absconders. Four proclaimed offenders were also arrested in December. As a result of the arrests, 359 vehicles, including 199 cars and 160 motorcycles, were recovered by the cell during the same period. The cell also came hard on the gangs involved in the theft of CNG kits recovering 31 kits during the month.—Staff Reporter
