JACOBABAD, Jan 3: Former speaker of the National Assembly, Illahi Bux Soomro, has said that fair and free elections were impossible in the presence of the present set-up.

Talking to newsmen here on the Eid day, he said that he was original Muslim Leaguer and was neither going to quit it nor would he join PPP as in this age, change of party would not suit him.

Terming the anti-government movement of MMA fruitless “as it would not affect the present rulers” and said that only the military is capable to wind up this set-up along with president General Pervez Musharraf.

Mr Soomro said that the APC, called by the PML, would not change the political set-up despite the fact that every political party wanted a change as lawlessness, unemployment and price hike and corruption have hit high.
