SUKKUR, Jan 3: About 250 people, including women and children, fell unconscious after eating poisonous sweets in Daharki and adjacent villages on the Eid day.

The victims, belonging to different villages including, Allah Yar Malik, Tuni Goth, Miani, Naseerullah, Mari, Matarkot and others had purchased sweets from a shop in Ubauro.

They were taken to different hospitals in Daharki, Ubauro, Ghotki, Mirpur Mathelo, Sadiqabad and Rahim Yar Khan.

The police have arrested shop owner Tufail Ahmed and his employees Faisal, Shafi Mohammad and Abdul Salam but have not registered any case.—BoC
