KHAAR, Dec 29: An elderly woman and three children were killed when the roof of a house, located in Gang area of Salarzai tehsil, collapsed on Thursday night. The house — which belonged to tribal elder Maklak Dawaee Khan — was in a dilapidated condition due to recent rains.

Those killed in the incident were Dawaee Khan’s 60-year-old mother; Irshad Khan (12), son of Mohammad Umer; Ali Haider (8), son of Wazir Khan; and Khadija Bibi (8). All four died instantly.

The bodies were retrieved by area people after an effort of several hours.

On behalf of the political administration, Tehsildaar Wisal Khan has assured the affected family of suitable compensation before Eidul Azha.
