Regional tax office by March

LAHORE, Dec 28: The regional tax office (RTO) will become functional by March next year to provide one-stop facility to taxpayers under one roof. “Work on the establishment of this office is in full swing,” Regional Commissioner Income Tax (RCIT) Haji Ahmad told this agency.

Of 13 RTOs being set up across the country by Central Board of Revenue (CBR), two are likely to start functioning in Peshawar and Abbotabad next month.

Haji Ahmad said the Lahore regional tax office would be one of the biggest RTOs in the country.

TEXTILE: Federal Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Sikandar Hayat Bosan will visit the regional office of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) here on Friday (today).

According to APTMA sources, he will be given briefing by association central president Shafqat Elahi Sheikh on cotton and synthetic fibre needs.

Bosan will also be the chief guest at the launching ceremony of Tara Urea Fertiliser being held at a local hotel on Friday afternoon. —APP
