KARACHI, Dec 27: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement, while celebrating Christmas with Christians at the party headquarters has assured them and other minorities of the party’s full support and also assured that their rights as equal citizens of Pakistan would be protected.

In a late night message received from the party headquarters on Tuesday, MQM founder Mr Altaf Hussain, in a telephonic address quoted from the Holy Quran and the bible to show that every religion preached humanity, brotherhood and peace. Those discriminating between followers of different faiths were not only doing mankind a great disservice, but going against the teachings of god almighty, he said.

Christian leaders were invited to Nine Zero where the MQM workers garlanded them.
