NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Dec 26: A lawyer by profession and son of PONM leader was kidnapped by eight armed men near a petrol pump, here on Monday. Rashid Ali, a practising lawyer in Karachi and son of Maulana Azizullah Bohio, chairman of Sindh Sagar Party and General Secretary of PONM Sindh chapter, was on his way in a car from his village Atel Bohio to Khair Mohammad Bohio village to drop his friend.

Eight armed men intercepted them near Tasi petrol pump on the National Highway within the jurisdiction of Naushahro Feroze police station.

The kidnappers tied his friend Habibullah Kumbhar and three others with ropes, took them to a nearby sugarcane field, threw them off and whisked away Rashid Ali Bohio.

He said after several hours, he informed Maulana Azizullah Bohio about the kidnapping incident. Later, the villagers and the Naushahro Feroze police with the help of sniffer dogs, launched a drive to find the kidnappers which remained futile.

DPO Naushahro Feroze Irfan Baloch said that it was a target kidnapping as the kidnappers had detained several people in the sugarcane field and ascertained their identity before taking away Rashid Bohio and freed the others. He said it might be a case of kidnapping for ransom.
