Tariq wins fifth term

LAHORE, Dec 24: Tariq Aziz was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Lahore Race Club (LRC) at the Annual General Meeting of the members of the club for the fifth consecutive term since 2002.

Earlier expressing full confidence, the members re-elected the sitting panel of stewards for yet another term.

Those re-elected on ten seat stewards panel are: Arbab Nur Mohammad Khan, Syed Fakhar Imam, Malik Hamid Ali Noon, Sheikh Sajjad Hassan, Malik Ghulam Nabi, Mian Abdul Waheed, Lt Col Masood Pervez, Syed Pervez Hussain Shah and Khawaja M. Arif.

The home secretary Punjab and the Inspector General of Police Punjab are the ex-officio members on stewards panel.

The meeting also nominated three members to represent LRC on the panel of stewards of the Jockey Club Of Pakistan (JCP).

They are: Hafeez Akhtar Randhawa, ex-chief secretary Punjab, Munir Dar, the former national hockey captain, and Javed Khalid.—AG
