NAWABSHAH, Dec 22: Candidates selected for the posts of school teachers staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Friday to protest over inordinate delay in the issuance of their posting orders.

Their leaders, Imdad Ali Lakho and Shakeel Ahmed Detho, told newsmen that some 7,000 candidates had cleared the test for the posts, of which 2000 were issued job offer letters five months ago. However, they deplored, they were still awaiting posting orders.

They appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Education Minister Dr Hamida Khuhro to ensure the issuing of posting orders without further delay.

FIRE: A music shop was gutted on Sakrand road here on Thursday night. Reports said that fire broke out in the shop due to short-circuit. As a result, furniture, CD players, cassettes and CDs were reduced to ashes.
