KARACHI, Dec 22: The legislators of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party have accused supporters of Musharraf’s regime of illegally occupying agricultural land of PPP MPA Sassi Palijo near Gharo and asked the police to get it vacated without any further delay.

In a statement issued by PPP media cell at Bilawal House, MPAs Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi, Mohammad Nawaz Chandio, Shazia Marri and Humera Alwani, alleged that party workers and leaders were being victimised prior to the general polls.

“It is part of pre-poll rigging in Sindh,” they said while demanding exemplary punishment for the culprits. They said that it was strange that the government, which had taken oath to protect life and property of citizens, was itself involved in illegal occupation and sponsoring land-grabbing through its henchmen.
