DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 18: An alleged proclaimed offender was killed in a joint operation conducted by the NWFP and the Punjab police in the Kanukhel area near here on Monday. Police officials claimed that the man killed in the operation was Tala Khan Ponda, adding that he was killed in an encounter lasting over six hours. They said that he was wanted by both the Punjab and NWFP police in connection with various crimes committed in the Mianwali and Dera Ismail Khan districts.
