LARKANA, Dec 18: A woman, Kashmiran along with her three children was admitted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital on Monday in a critical condition after taking tea containing anti-lice powder.

Her children -- Sofia 8, Rukhsana 1, and Fozia 3, were shifted to the intensive care unit of CMC, children hospital.

Kashmiran alleged that her drug addict husband, Jamaluddain Gadhi, had continuously been torturing her to transfer the ownership rights of the house to his name.

Escaping the trail of torture, she along with her three children, took tea containing anti-lice powder on Monday to get rid of the brutal beatings once for all, she said. She was later removed to the Medical Unit-I in a precarious condition.

The children were lying unconscious in the ICU of CMC children hospital and, according to doctors, condition of the three children was precarious adding that “they would remain under observation for at least for 24 hours.

Sitting besides them Hajiran, the grandmother of the children, narrated the ordeal and contradicted version of her daughter Kashmiran, and accused her son-in-law for poisoning the children and her wife.

He (Jamaluddain Gadhi,) a drug addict had not only been severely beating her daughter but was seeking proprietary rights of the house, she said.

The neighbours informed her about the incident and on arrival, found emptied sachets of anti-lice powder in the house. She immediately shifted them to the casualty department of CMCH. Later, she accompanied the children to CMC children hospital.

Jamaluddain Gadhi, alleged to be the main character behind this episode, had escaped. No FIR of the incident had so far been lodged with the area police station.
