Robbers shoot policeman

SIALKOT, Dec 15: Bambaanwala police station head constable Muhammad Aslam alias Lodha was shot dead by three robbers on offering resistance during a strike on main Defence Road near Fatehgarh, Sialkot city, on Friday morning.

Reports said the head constable, who was on leave, was going home by motorcycle when three robbers stopped him and tried to loot cash. On resistance, they shot the policeman dead.

The police have registered a case. The deceased was later laid to rest at his native village after the autopsy in the presence of hundreds of mourners.
