BAHAWALPUR, Dec 14: The house of a Shia leader was badly damaged in a mystery blast in Mauza Kotla Bakar Shah near Hatheji in Ahmedpur tehsil on Thursday night.

Luckily, Ghulam Nabi Parhar and all his family members were away when the blast, cause of which was not known immediately, had taken place.

A heavy police contingent and a bomb disposal squad came to the scene. More details were awaited.

It may be recalled that Hatheji, which is the constituency of Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser Malik Khalid Warren, had had sectarian strife in the past.
